An infotainment media designed to reconcile the past, the present, and the future
It seems to me that History is omnipresent in our debates, cultural references, and collective identities. On an even larger scale, every individual and every object carries within them a story. Yet its transmission struggles to renew itself in the face of digital habits. Too academic for some, too fragmented for others, it often remains distant from younger audiences, even though they are seeking narratives capable of giving meaning and enlightening their understanding of the world.
histoire is an infotainment media entirely deployed on Instagram, dedicated to historical facts and events as well as current affairs—hence the ambiguity of the slogan "understand the present". Its ambition: to tell History differently, making it accessible, engaging, and relevant to social media conventions.
A hybrid editorial line
histoire positions itself at the frontier between rigorous information and immersive storytelling. Each publication aims for a precise balance:
- Historical accuracy ⇢ facts are verified, sourced, contextualized
- Pedagogical clarity ⇢ information is prioritized, content accessible
- Visual appeal ⇢ the format captures attention without betraying substance
Rather than multiplying dates or raw data, I chose to prioritize narratives. Embodied characters, key events, sometimes little-known or unexpected angles. History thus becomes living material, capable of dialoguing with contemporary issues.

A complete creative process
From conception to distribution, I handled the entire project autonomously.
Research and writing
Each piece of content begins with historical research: reading primary and secondary sources, cross-referencing information, identifying relevant angles. Then comes the writing phase: synthesizing, prioritizing, finding the right rhythm.
Editorial direction
Beyond individual publications, the project requires an overall vision: thematic consistency, balance between historical periods, anticipation of key moments (commemorations, current events).
Visual creation
Each visual is designed to fit platform conventions while maintaining a distinct identity. Typography, color palette, layout—everything contributes to the reading experience.

Building a relationship with the audience
histoire is not a top-down project. Instagram allows direct interaction with followers: comments, private messages, reactions. These exchanges played an essential role in the project's evolution.
They allowed me to adjust:
- Formats ⇢ some work better than others
- Themes ⇢ identifying what sparks interest
- Depth level ⇢ finding the right balance between popularization and precision
Gradually, histoire became a space for dialogue where the past becomes a starting point for questioning the present, sparking debates, and encouraging intellectual curiosity.
An evolving project
histoire is not a static project. It follows a logic of constant evolution, guided by feedback, experimentation, and new format ideas.
Through this project, I sought to demonstrate that intellectual rigor can fully coexist with social media conventions. histoire has thus become much more than a "simple Instagram account". I would say it constitutes a reflection on the circulation of knowledge in the digital age.
